A festival of the fairest and a feast for the senses…
That’s the theme of this year’s parade as captured through my phone and camera lenses.
The sense of sight and the sense of sound. The vibrant colors and the drum beats all mixing together.
Many are dressed in red, white and blue and yellow–a lighthearted scheme that’s well put together.
The handshakes. The hugs. Hundreds of people marching, walking, and running.
Gathering and greeting everyone, smiling widely and laughing incessantly.
The rows and rows of barbecue grills and aluminum food containers that house traditional Filipino delicacies.
Smoke rises above each food stall telling everyone, “Hey, come on over” to the epicenter
To a great feast right within the heart of the Flatiron district.
Come try some treats to quench that thirst and satisfy that hunger.
Have some halo-halo. Eat some pansit and palabok.
Taste. Chew. Devour. All that is sweet, spicy and sour.
Experience the moment. Live the culture even for just an hour.
Showcasing diversity and camaraderie, it’s a once-a-year event that one will surely never forget.
