For Life

At a time when my friends said leave,
I stayed

At a time when my folks said think,
I did not heed

At a time when my instinct said move on,
I did not listen

At a time when my heart wanted to stop loving,
I refused

At a time when my eyes wanted to turn around,
I focused

At a time when my hands wanted to let go,
I did not abandon

Because I believe
That change can happen
That miracles are real
That love prevails

Because you are
My best friend
My lover
My life
My eternal
