Poetry 122: A Dark Solace

A Dark Solace

by Aidenn A. Spelling

I close my eyes
I clench my fists
And breathe a sigh
‘Midst eerie mist

I bend my knees
And kneel on ground
And feel my skin
No hope for sound

I feel my chest
The beats thump deep
Cannot suppress
Feelings don’t sleep

I tear my shirt
And pull my hair
And scream out loud
No one could hear

Not one soul lives
On barren land
No eyes could see
What little stands

No lights will shine
From distant stars
The dark shall reign
And soothe these scars

THE END
