Poetry 149: Daydream

Daydream
by Aidenn A. Spelling

Walking with
A cream puff in my hand
Feeling tough
As I brave the hot, hot sand

But I ignore
The people around me
Who can stand
All the eyes peering at me

Standing tall
I stare at the sea waves
Listening
To the crashing sounds I crave

But I ignore
The people around me
It’s all ’bout me
And my exotic fantasy…

To walk on water
And cross the sea
Get to the other side
A wond’rous treat for me

I’d see the Eiffel tower
And walk over London Bridge
I’d climb the Great Pyramids
And listen to Moroccan beats

I’d dine with Roman Gods
And sing Spanish love songs
Sail across the Aegean sea
Bask on a yacht over Ibizan waters

It’s all ’bout me
And my exotic fantasy
But it doesn’t end there
It just keeps getting better

I think Rio’s calling me
So I must end this litany
Ipanema here I come
See if I can samba my way down

It’s all about me
And my fantasy
It’s all about me
And my fantasy…

THE END
